Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, President of Fudan University, Director of GBA-IPM, foreign member of the Max Planck Society of Germany, national outstanding youth, leader of innovative groups, and leader of the national precision medicine special expert group during the "13th Five-Year Plan". His research interests include the genetic structure of populations, the origin and migration of populations, complex human genetic diseases, and computational biology. In recent years, he has undertaken a number of researches such as the National Major Research Program, the National Key R&D Program, the National Science and Technology Support Key Project, the National Natural Science Foundation of China Major Project, the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Major Project and the Basic Research Key Project. So far, he has published more than 700 papers in important international academic journals such as Nature, Science, and Cell, and has been cited more than 33,000 times.
