Greater Bay Area Institute of Precision Medicine (Guangzhou), shortened as GBA-IPM, is a Guangdong Provincial Public Institution built jointly by the People’s Government of Guangzhou Municipality, Guangzhou Nansha Economic and Technological Development Zone Management Committee, and Fudan University. GBA-IPM is located in Nansha district, the geographical center of the Greater Bay Area. On October 19, 2020, GBA-IPM was approved and registered by Guangdong Administration of Registration of Public Institutions.

GBA-IPM was established according to the strategic need of development in Guangdong Province and the Greater Bay Area in the international frontier of medical sciences. In a main battle field of national economy to meet needs for people’s life and health, GBA-IPM brings together scientific research strength of Fudan University and economic vitality of the Greater Bay Area to facilitate a deep integration of Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta areas. By cooperation between Fudan University and local governments, GBA-IPM wishes to establish a regional innovation center for fundamental research and technological development. GBA-IPM aims to build a world-class research platform and create a talent pool for precision and intelligent medicine. As importantly, the institute will focus on industrilizing key research innovation, and incubate internationally competitive translation center, and eventually make contributions to the technological and economic development in Guangdong Province and the Greater Bay Area.
