Principal Investigator
TANG Xiaofang
Research Direction

the regulation of lung epithelia during development and diseases, especially the roles of protein quality control and epigenetic modifications

ABOUT

Dr. Tang is a co-principal investigator in the Center for Organoid and Regeneration. Her main research interest is the regulation of lung epithelia during development and diseases, especially the roles of protein quality control and epigenetic modifications. Her future objectives are 1) to investigate the involvement of disrupted proteostasis of lung epithelia under physiological and pathological conditions; 2) to interrogate epigenetic regulation in the control of differentiation and regeneration of lung epithelia during development and injury.

Dr. Tang received her B.Sc. from Tsinghua University and Ph.D. from the Molecular & Developmental Biology program at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. She was trained as a postdoctoral scholar in the Division of Pulmonary Biology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. She joined the GBA-IPM in April 2022. She has published a series of research articles on developmental biology and won a fund from the LRRC Young Investigator Pilot Project of NHLBI (USA).
